Narrative Manager

Shortcodes

The narrative manager includes the ability to add "shortcodes" to a narrative template. This allows you to make a generic template, however, when you insert a narrative into your report it will automatically replace the following shortcodes with specific attributes for that patient. Below are the current shortcodes.

Adding Shortcodes

When adding or editing narrative templates inside of the Narrative Manager you will see a dropdown called "Shortcodes" You can insert the shortcodes by selecting the shortcode you want to enter in your template.

Below are the current shortcodes that are supported:

  1. [[firstName]] shortcode will automatically insert the patients first name into the template when you add it to a report
  2. [[subjective]] shortcode will automatically insert the patients subjective pronoun into the report narrative (he/she etc)
  3. [[subjective-UC]] shortcode will add an upper case version of the subjective pronound
  4. [[objective]] shortcode will automatically insert the patients objective pronoun into the report narrative (him/her etc)
  5. [[objective-UC]] shortcode will add an upper case version of the objective pronoun
  6. [[possessive]] shortcode will automatically insert the patients possessive pronoun into the report narrative (his/hers etc)
  7. [[objective-UC]] shortcode will add an upper case version of the possessive pronoun

Example Shortcode Usage

Given the following template added inside of the narrative manager

In the Report Writer tab you can select this template as shown above by clicking on the templates for that table and selecting the template you wish to add to the report.

Upon selecting the template it will automatically insert and replace all the shortcodes with the patient names / pronouns as shown below.
